v2.0.0
Coming soon

Accounts, Key-free translation, and subscriptions

The features in this version can already be tested locally. The backend has not yet been deployed, and trial credits and subscriptions are not yet open to the public. Bring-your-own-key mode remains available.

  • Account login: Sign in with an email verification code or Google, authorize in a tab in the current window, then return to the extension; the popup and settings pages show the username, balance, and subscription status.
  • Trial and credits: Plans include guest trials and sign-up bonuses. Remaining trial credits can be transferred to an account, and bonus credits do not expire; deductions are precise based on actual usage, refunded on failure, and no longer rounded up by one credit each time.
  • Hosted text and images: No personal key required. Supports selection, the translation panel, webpage regions, and image recognition and translation. Recognized video subtitles can use hosted text translation; audio and video upload and hosted transcription are not yet available.
  • Subscriptions and billing: The user center manages subscriptions, orders, usage, and login sessions. Subscriptions provide unlimited use under a fair-use policy. Payment plans are handled through Creem; live payment collection is still pending launch validation.
  • Status sync: Logging out on the web revokes extension logins authorized by that web session without affecting other browsers; local development and production environments are handled separately.
  • Interface and privacy: Removed the duplicate balance display from the popup; added hosted image descriptions and data processing disclosures for optional Google Cloud speech recognition. Translation content and images are not stored.
v1.1.0
2026-10-13

From a Chinese translation tool to 24 languages

  • Full multilingual interface: Provides 24 interface and target languages, with interface, source, and target each independent; first install follows the browser language, and upgrades preserve existing preferences and API configuration.
  • Translation interactions for readers of different languages: Supports Chinese, short phrases, and mixed-language selections. The context menu is generated according to the current target language and no longer only offers "Translate to Chinese."
  • Temporary target switching: The selection popup retranslates from the source text and can explicitly save the default target; the translation panel remembers its own source and target selections.
  • Region and image improvements: Region translation can restore the original text and falls back on failure; switching the target for an image reuses the recognition result, and changing the image clears the cache.
  • Text direction and platform capabilities: Supports right-to-left interfaces such as Arabic, with source and translated text laid out independently; DeepL is handled according to the language combinations it actually supports, with a clear notice when unsupported.
  • Experimental video subtitles: Speech recognition and subtitle translation can be manually enabled for the current tab. Off by default; recognition quality and compatibility remain limited.

First release

  • Selection translation: select non-Chinese text and right-click to translate; the translation streams into a popup in the middle of the screen. If the selection is already Chinese, the menu item does not appear.
  • Element translation: right-click a region of the page to attach a translate button to it; clicking it replaces the text in place. Rules are remembered per domain and can be managed on the rules page.
  • Image translation: right-click an image to read the text inside it; the translation is placed back over the original at the detected positions. Long images are split into content-aware tiles, with the seams kept between lines of text.
  • Translation panel: a standalone page with the source on the left and the translation on the right; pick any target language.
  • Works with the ChatGPT (OpenAI), DeepSeek and DeepL APIs; switch providers from the popup or the settings page at any time.
  • The API key lives in chrome.storage.local and is not synced through your Chrome account.
